This Week's News

10th September 2021

Welcome back to school everyone! It has been absolutely wonderful seeing you all this week and lovely to be back together as a school family. I hope you all had a restful summer break. The children have settled back into school routines extremely well this week and we are pleased that some of our previous Covid-19 restrictions have eased. However, it is vitally important that we still remain cautious and ensure that we carry out thorough hygiene routines in order to help stop the spread. We are continuing to keep parents off site at the beginning and end of the school day and this is not only helping us to protect our community from Covid-19, but it has also improved our safeguarding procedures. Please remember to read the information I have previously sent out via Parent Hub regarding what to do if your child has symptoms/tests positive.

I was so happy seeing our new Nursery and Reception pupils starting their first day of school with us on Wednesday. All children have settled into new routines extremely well. I am very proud of them! Nursery children even stayed for lunch for the first time today which was a success!

Our new Year 6 class are already proving to be super role models for the rest of the school. Long may this continue!

Our breakfast club continues to operate in classrooms as per last term, until October. Please continue to complete the booking forms sent out weekly. We are hoping that our pre Covid breakfast club and Out of School Club can start again in a few weeks!

All children look so smart in our new school uniform colours! Please don’t worry if you are still waiting for uniform to be delivered or come into stock as there have been issues with deliveries across the country this year, partly due to Brexit and Covid.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the first week in my new role as Headteacher of Our Lady and St. Anne’s Catholic Primary School. It was heart-warming today, when an important visitor commented on how calm and welcoming our environment is! This is something I am very proud of. Our staff have worked extremely hard to ensure our school was ready to welcome everyone back with open arms this week!

Overall, whole school attendance in the past week was 97.61%. Year 1 and Year 5 were the best attenders with a whopping 100%!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone and we will see you all on Monday morning.
